21.10.2010 Romanians do not trust in the institutions anymore: This is the result of a survey of the non-governmental “Pro Democratia”

Only 17 % of all Romanians trust in the president respectively in the president’s office. In 2009 there were still 48 %. Even parliament, government and the political parties are no more able to satisfy the Romanians. Only 12 to 14 % believe in the honesty of those responsible. Three out of 5 respondents declare that human rights are not respected. 50 % demand the reintroduction of death penalty and even 55 % want that Roma who have become criminals abroad are denationalized.

Among the people a bad resignation is spreading. Nevertheless 7,000 teachers have protested against cutting of wages and demand the resignation of the government. A teacher has now to get along with 250 Euro per month, while the prices of food have been increased by 25 % VAT. It is not necessary to explain the impact on education. More and more children already refuse going to school. Even the wages of the civil servants have been cut by 25 %. The delegates, however, do not save money. Their wages amount to 10,000 Euro per month.

Voting fraud in Romania legalized afterwards

Despite video footage showing that only 80 delegates were present in the Romanian parliament during a vote on Romania's new pension law, 170 votes were recorded in the voting protocol. The constitutional court nonetheless declared on Wednesday that it had failed to find any irregularities with the vote. Millions of Romanians have seen the video recording yet the Constitutional Court has not. In this way a violation of the law has produced a new law and a breach of the constitution is now in conformity with the constitution." Whom or what shall the Romanians still believe in?!

Has communism deformed Romania?

20 years after the so-called revolution still 61 % of Romanians say that communism was a good idea (Institute for the Investigation of Communist Crimes).
This result reveals dangerous double standards in Romania. Then as now, for many people fundamental rights were less important than personal well-being. Still everything is handled with the help of “small gifts”. Compromise still is the favored way of life. Everything was and is solved “in an underhand way”. The application of double standards has become deeply rooted in all social classes. Thus the old ideology of communism has survived and will not be exterminated for a long time. Even the young people who have not lived under dictatorship anymore are so strongly infected by immorality that it will take more than many generations to eradicate it. Romania is the gateway to the Balkan. Here, communism and orientalism are melting.

The author of this news, Father Don Demidoff ICCC, has been living in Romania for 20 years. He maintains a welfare center for starving gypsy children who are also looked after of one of his doctors, and he is a pastor in Romanian prisons.

Please read www.depeschedondemidoff.com. For this humanitarian work he urgently needs help. After his book “Der Dornenpriester (Priest of Thorns)”, Editura Inimii, Str. Scolii 232, 557105 Iacobeni, Romania, he is writing a new book: “Schlangenbrut und Natterngezücht (A brood of vipers)”, describing the behavior by examples of people who after 20 years after the end of dictatorship are still characterized by a perverse ideology and who are not even able to recognize that.
