Dec 25, 2008 I ask all people of good will reading this e-mail for immediate help.

I am sitting here on Christmas Eve without the possibility of a prayer. Instead I continue reading the shattering letters from the Romanian prisons, at least those which arrive, while others have been confiscated, as well as the prisoners have been deprived of the right of writing letters and my letters are confiscated, too, empty paper is handed over to the prisoners instead. Taunting and barbarian. And Europe keeps silent. Even my speech before the Romanian parliamentary commission has come to nothing. The Committee of the European Council has already found in 2006 that there is torture in four Romanian prisons, what however has been declared as punches or similar. I rather question Europe by now, more than Romania. Here you can feel safe, when Europe fears to take a firm stand. Meanwhile the torturing is going on. Hundreds of prisoners have asked for my pastoral help and written declared it. Romania has confirmed this right of the prisoners by a convention on the entry into the European Union. I am continuously refused access. I (respectively the League for the Renaissance of Moral Standing) have lost the process against torture at all courts. This implies the mafia having worked together with the previous government. The torturers did not even have to appear before the court. The court file and evidence I have brought cannot be measured in pages anymore but in meters. The principal witness of the LIGA H. was tortured to death after his notarial declaration. Nobody cares about. I now have brought this before the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. It will take a year before there will be an answer from there, because Romania has the most proceedings due to violation of Human Rights pending there. The wish for a “Merry Christmas” gets stuck in my throat. Well then, “Merry torturing”. Father Don Demidoff ICCC, Basilica, 557105 Iacobeni, Romania.
