2 million children suffer from starvation in Romania

- 2 million children suffer from starvation in Romania. The priest draws attention on the dictatorship of the total capital and on the bureaucracy of the European Union. Pater (Father) Don Demidoff, priest of the Free Church and member of the International Council of Community Churches USA draws the attention of Romanian citizens on Romania’s too hasty joining of the European Union. There are 23 million people living in Romania, 4 million of which turn their back on this country and go to the countries from the European Union to do all kinds of second hand jobs. In Romania 2 million children suffer from starvation and they work and beg ever since they were five years old, according to the statistics of the "International Labor Office" and to UNICEF. (the Edition of May 2005). The German Don Demidoff, who has been working and living in Romania for the last 14 years, is afraid that after Romania joins the EU the people and the resources of this country will be exploited even more, which does not serve Romania’s interest at all. The difference between the urban and the rural population is so great that we may say that in Romania there are practically two countries. Demidoff asks EU politicians to stop for one day and one night in one of the numberless villages that lack infrastructure, instead of choosing accommodation in one of the luxurious hotels in Bucharest. Pater Don Demidoff (aged 61) left the Roman Catholic Church more than 30 years ago and joined "The Independent Catholic Church". For the last 14 years he has been managing a home for abandoned children located in Cincu, Transilvania, where 60 are currently living. (www.clic-copiii.ro). In May 2005 he transformed the old church dating back to the 12th century from Iacobeni, into an ecumenical church and opened it for the gypsies that live in that village. Don Demidoff is the president of the "The League for the Renaissance of Romania’s Moral Standing" (www.ligarenasteriiromaniei.ro). In his book, "The Priest of Thorns" (ISBN 973-0-03816-3) he presents the reality from the Romania of year 2005 and his fight against the neo-communists and against church leaders (see "The Warning of the Conference of German Catholic Bishops", made against the noncompliant Priest titled "The Mafia of Red Caps"). Demidoff no longer has to right to preach in catholic churches.
